time keepers

“Time is very slow for those who wait. Very fast for those who are scared. Very long for those who are lament. Very short for those who celebrate. But for those who love, time is eternal.” — William Shakespeare

12 months. 52 weeks. 365 days. 8,760 hours. 525,600 minutes. This is ultimately what a year consists of, but I think it’s truly measured in two things: time & love. And somehow another one is already coming to an end.

Everyday is new, everyday is different. Essentially, we have the choice with how to live our year. Sometimes things we never expect to happen, happen. There will be joy and there will be pain, all of that is clearly inevitable.

But the most important thing that we can choose to do everyday is love.

Love. It’s what controls us. We long for it, we all just want to be loved.  It’s what makes the world go around. Love can conquer all things. It can be found in the most unexpected places. We don’t really get to choose who we love or even who loves us back. But we do control whether or not we choose to let it in and give it back.

Time. It’s what we think controls us. Technically, it does because our lives revolve around it. But it’s also a never ending illusion that we use as an excuse not to do something. Time is literally man made, but then we always want more. We are always going to want more time with the people we love, and there will never ever be enough.

We do in fact “accept the love we think we deserve”, and that is a beautiful yet terrifying concept. Will you let someone in and love you like you really deserve?

Don’t waste time. Love & love well.

There are 15 days left in 2017, spend them wisely.
